- Town 2 Range 10 (Tallmadge Township) was laid out with a town square and eight roads. Each road was designed to go out in various direction from the square. The Town Square , which still exist today, was located directly in the middle of the township.
- On July 15, 1952, Dan Dunford, owner/manager, opened the Dairy Queen on the Tallmadge Circle. It was off North Avenue where the KeyBank parking lot is currently located.
- In 1934 and 1935 the local Soap Box Derby race was run down the hill on Tallmadge Avenue by Thomas Road. In 1936 work began by the Akron Fulton Airport to become the new home of the American Soap Box Derby where races are still held today.
- Tallmadge had a Radio Broadcasting Station built in 1929 - WADC - off Northwest Avenue.
- In 1926, Tallmadge hosted Greyhound dog races at a track located off North Munroe Road. The most famous visitor to the track was Babe Ruth, who attracted a crowd of 6,000 visitors.
- In 1898, Francis J. Wright had the first milk route in Tallmadge. Customers furnished their own containers and mile sold for 5 cents a quart.
- In 1809, Jotham Blakesley opened a blacksmith shop in a cabin on the east side of Southeast and Dunbar Avenues. He made wrought iron nails that went into all of the early frame buildings in Tallmadge.
- Tallmadge had an air strip on Osceola Street where the city garage is today.
- There once was a hotel on Tallmadge Circle where the McDonalds is today.
- Before there was Tallmadge Circle, all eight roads merged in the middle of the Town Square. In 1859 the circle was started and the land in the circle became Circle Park.
